What woman doesn’t love shoes, right? I’m a sucker for a fun shoe and I think one of the main reasons is because I tend to keep my outfits a little more casual and minimal. I’m not wearing bold crazy fun things like colorful unique dresses. But I’ll do that with a shoe for some reason. I think they pair nicely with a basic white tee and jeans. And they can also complement those fun things too and liven them up even more.
I discovered Larroudé by accident while writing a blog post a few weeks ago. I was searching for fun platforms to round up in this post and stumbled onto these daisy print platform slides. They were just SO fun, and they stuck out as one of my favorites in the roundup. I ended up going down a rabbit hole of this shoe brand and wanted to add so many to my cart.
Larroudé was founded by Marina Larroudé who is from Brazil, but worked in the fashion world in NYC as fashion director of Teen Vogue and then VP, Fashion Director at Barney’s. So yeah, she knows style. She launched Larroudé in the midst of a pandemic in 2020. With a goal to create fashion-forward pieces that weren’t outrageously priced like high fashion items, Larroudé shoe collection was born.
The first pair I had to have were the Dolly Platforms. They are a fun platform sky high sandal that come in a few basic colors and also really fun prints. I finally wore them for an entire night and had to share my full review as the number one question I got was “are those comfortable?”.
Larroude Shoe Review
While these were technically the first pair I discovered from the brand. It was truly the Dolly Platforms that were calling my name. I’m a sucker for a fun 70s platform and these were it. And perfect for summer outfits in the beautiful raffia fabric.
Fit And Sizing
I found Larroudé shoes to be true to size for me. I did notice the footbed is a tad wide on some styles, while a bit more normal on others (like the Annie).
Comfort Level
While the Dolly Platforms are very tall, they are actually very comfortable. The 1.5-inch platform in the front helps to balance out the very tall 4.5-inch heel. A super big block heel also makes these easy to walk in. These shoes also have the Larroudé cloud memory foam in the sole for ultimate comfort.
Depending on the styles and the straps, I think that will play a role in the comfort level. I find the Margherita sandals to not be very comfortable across the straps, yet the footbed itself is very comfortable and easy to walk in.
Materials
These shoes are high quality and you can just tell the moment you take them out of the box. The cloud memory foam insole, high-quality materials like leather and raffia product, and the suede leather sole are all signs of a well-made shoe with quality materials.
Larroude Dolly Review
After wearing the Dolly Platforms from Larroude out for a few hours standing the entire time, I can genuinely attest to the comfort of these sky-high raffia platforms. They were insanely comfortable to wear around. Walking in them was also really easy. I felt very secure in such a high heel.
Styling them is also super fun and easy. This neutral shoe can go with all my summer dresses and jumpsuits. I’ll be pairing them with this black linen romper I love, and all my favorite Reformation dresses. I just recently wore them with this matching set from DISSH.
They’ll also be great with just a great pair of jeans and a pretty summer top. You can’t go wrong with that combination. Truly these are going to be the go-to shoe for summer. They’re giving my favorite espadrilles a run for their money.
Margherita Block Sandal
The Margherita block sandal is a really fun chunky sandal for spring and summer. The straps are little laser cut flowers. I will be honest here, these are not the comfiest. The straps are a bit painful, but the block heel and platform are very comfortable. It may take a little more breaking in on these, but I love them for when I know I’m not going to be walking a ton.
This sandal also comes in a similar version, the Gio. This comes in lots of colors, even bedazzled versions. As well as flatform and block sandal styles. This has the same three straps but no floral cutouts. See them all here.
Annie Sandal
Every closet needs a good neutral heel that you can wear with everything. And the Annie sandal is just that. It comes in a few colorways and I went with the tan leather. It’s a sling back strappy sandal with a 3.25 inch heel. It’s a comfortable height to wear for many hours.
I found that the sling back stayed pretty well. If you have a very narrow foot this may be a struggle to stay on. There is a bit of elastic on the inside of it so it hugs your foot.
If the 3.25 inch heel is too high for you, this sandal also comes in the Mini Annie. It’s a kitten heel version with just a 2 inch heel. Great for more everyday looks or wearing to the office.
And if you want a more trendy optin, try the platform Annie. A chunky platform version with the same sexy straps. These are a 5 1/2 inch heel with a 2 inch platform.
As with all Larroudé shoes, these all come with the memory foam cushion in the sole of the shoe making for a more comfortable heel no matter which style of the Annie sandal you choose.
Larroudé Louise Boot
I was torn between these or the Kate boots from Larroudé and to be honest, I wish I went with the Kate. More classic and goes with everything. These are very cool and trendy and feel like a western meets boho vibe.
The cone heel was a favorite detail of these. They are again, very comfortable with the memory foam cushion sole. They have a 3 inch heel and are a pull on style.
I am currently adding the Larroudé Kate boot to my wishlist. It’s a more classic style and the shaft is more stiff keeping it up. Whereas the Louise boot is more of a slouchy softer leather.
