Blake Lively Perfects the Dress-and-Sneakers Combo

Though we’re slowly inching towards fall, the warm weather in New York City is still scorching—and actor Blake Lively is embracing the late summer heatwave with her latest fashion-forward outfit. The actor, who will likely be spotted at the shows during New York Fashion Week, stepped out with husband Ryan Reynolds wearing a casual ensemble that was still very polished. And while her printed Chanel cross-body bag is extremely covetable, it’s her dress-and-sneakers combination that’s especially on point.

All the best dressed stars this summer are on bird with a good dress-and-sneakers pairing (Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, and Kendall Jenner are on board with the look). It’s easy to understand why—a summery dress is an easy wardrobe staple on a hot day, and sneakers are a comfy shoe choice for being on the go. Lively, though, took it to the next level with her styling approach: The sweet floral print of her Spell maxi dress matched the pastel hues of her Nike low-tops. While you may not think sporty kicks would go with such a dressy frock, it’s the color coordination that marries the two pieces—and makes the outfit feel so effortless.
