After having launched the CA Pro 911 ‘Dreams in Colours’ Edition in May 2023, Porsche and Puma are once again coming together to launch the new Retro and Heritage Design Sneakers.
Both sneakers are being launched to mark the 60th anniversary of the 911, just like this special 911 S/T.
For those that like a more vintage look, the Retro Sneaker is sure to appeal. Inspired by the narrow and flat silhouette of the Porsche 911 S 2.5 from 1972, the sneaker mirrors the car’s use of a light blue colour. Also mirrored here from the car is its ’56’ starting number, reproduced on the sneaker on its heel.
Finishing the exterior of the Retro Sneaker are suede overlays, alongside the use of red contrast stitching. The sneaker also gets a tongue made from smooth leather, which gets the grille badge from the Porsche 911 S/T reproduced as a woven label at its front. This sneaker will be limited to just 1,972 examples (the birth year of the 911 S 2.5), all of which will be individually numbered.
Fans of modern Porsches, meanwhile, will gravitate to the Heritage Sneaker.
This sneaker is inspired by the Porsche 911 S/T, and thus comes in a grey hue alongside a lining in a cognac-brown tone to match the paint finish and interior of the car. The Heritage Sneaker also comes with the number ’63’ on its heel – a reference to the year the Porsche 911 was born.
This sneaker is limited to just 1,963 pieces, and the underside of its tongue is made of textile, with the pattern on the 911 S/T’s seats replicated. The sneaker also gets the car’s grille badge as a woven label made of smooth leather on the front of this tongue.
The left shoe of both the Retro and Heritage Sneaker will come with a red lace, while the right one gets a black lace, although a second lace in each of the two colours is included in the box. These laces will also feature the respective limitation colour at their tips.
Both sneakers will be available at an exclusive pre-sale event that will take place at IAA Mobility in Munich, Germany, come 5 September 2023. The sneakers will additionally be available to order from 6 September 2023 via the Porsche online store here, as well as in the Porsche Museum store in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and the Porsche factory stores in Zuffenhausen and Weissach. The sneakers will also be available to order from 14 September in North America and from 24 September in Europe via Puma’s website here.
