Kate Middleton brought a burst of summer freshness to the 2023 Ladies Finals at Wimbledon on Saturday. The Princess of Wales wore a vibrant lime green dress by Self-Portrait to day thirteen of the tennis championships.
The princess accessorised her eye-catching dress with a pair of pearl earrings by Cassandra Goad, Gianvito Rossi suede slingbacks, Victoria Beckham sunglasses, and a neutral-coloured clutch by Emmy London.
Prior to play, Kate fulfilled her patronage duties, engaging with the behind-the-scenes heroes of the tournament. She spent time on the Players’ Lawn, exchanging pleasantries with the Wimbledon staff and the enthusiastic ball boys and girls.
Before 2pm, the Princess took her seat to watch Czech Marketa Vondrousova take on Tunisian Ons Jabeur.
Vondrousova beat Jabeur and made history. She become the first ever unseeded Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles Champion.
Kate presented the trophy following the game.
Kate’s love of tennis is well-known and the Princess is a regular at Wimbledon, given her role as the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the prestigious institution that hosts the championships.

Let’s take a look at Kate’s outfit today!
Kate’s green dress today at Wimbledon:
I think we can all agree this is a chic look—the dress is sleek and Kate’s half-up half-down curled hair finished the look with a touch of sophistication. It’s from Self-Portrait.
The refreshing lime green colour is perfect for the summer season. The garment features short sleeves, a tailored bouclé top trimmed with pockets, a waist belt and a pleated chiffon midi skirt.
The dress—a signature silhouette for Self-Portrait—is the fifth of its kind in Kate’s wardrobe. She owns very similar styles in white, black, white with black trim and cream with pineapple motif.
As with yesterday’s outfit, I will reiterate that I’m getting tired of seeing multiples of the same item in her wardrobe, but I understand the rationale behind it. Find something you like and stick with it. You can’t deny she looks beautifully polished.
The dress is exclusive to Self-Portrait, where it’s described as “ideal for garden parties and al fresco lunches”. It retails for £420. A quick thank you to Emma who identified the exact piece.
The lime dress is reminiscent of the mint green ensemble Kate wore to the tournament last week (below), a clear nod to the championships—Wimbledon’s signature colours are green and purple and it’s no secret that Kate enjoys a bit of literal dressing! Her outfit was a subtle yet stylish tribute.
Kate paired her green dress with neutral accessories and pearl earrings.
The earrings are from Cassandra Goad. Still available and priced at £5,430, the earrings are crafted from 18ct yellow gold and feature seven pearls each, set with diamonds. The design is inspired by the clusters of young flower stalks of the cauliflower (cavolfiore).
The Princess debuted the pearl cluster earrings in 2019, for Prince Louis’s Christening. This is the 10th time we’ve seen her wear them.
Kate has just one other pair of earrings from Cassandra Goad, the the ‘Temple of Heaven’ girandole earrings in gold.
Kate’s handbag is a familiar piece. It’s from Emmy London. The Natasha Clutch—whether she’s carrying biscuit or blush is TBC. (I think the biscuit, will confirm. She owns both—plus the same bag in another 12 colours!!)
I think this is the first time we’ve seen the Princess carry the bag using the removable chain.
The bag is made from kid suede and lined with neutral oyster suede. According to the designer, the bag is roomy enough for essentials and fastens with a magnetic popper. Each bag is handcrafted in Portugal.
Kate’s clearly a fan of Emmy London—the Natasha Clutch is a mainstay of her collection—as I mentioned above, she owns it in 14 colours total.
It’s easy to see why Kate likes the Natasha Clutch. Its sleek shape pairs well with almost any outfit. So, whether it’s attending a church service with her family or representing the UK on an overseas tour, Kate knows that her Emmy London clutch has got her covered.
Need a luxury clutch for your next big occasion? Find the Natasha at emmylondon.com for £395.
Onto Kate’s suede slingbacks. They’re new, from Gianvito Rossi. The Ribbon 85 Sling. (Thanks to Middleton Maven who identified them.)
At the time of writing, the heels are not available online in suede. But I’ve found them at FarFetch.com in beige leather and black leather.
The shoes feature a pointed toe, a branded insole and a 85mm high heel. The buckle is quite distinctive, and features a small gold ribbon (hence the shoe’s name).
As my regular readers will know, Kate is a huge fan of the Italian footwear designer, Gianvito Rossi. She wears his creations often.
Let’s finish up by looking at Kate’s accessories. Her gold bangle and black sunglasses.
The bangle is from Halcyon Days.
Update: earlier, I wrote Kate wore her Maya Torque Bangle from Halcyon Days, but I don’t think this is correct. It looks like she’s wearing a new bracelet, the Salamander style. Great catch by Royal Fashion Police.

The pretty bangle is crafted from 18ct gold plated brass and finished with coloured cabochons. Judging by the cabochons in this picture, I’d say the Princess is wearing the forget-me-not or aquamarine style?
Halcyon Days says the bangle “lends itself beautifully both to stacking with other styles or wearing solo”. RRP £150 at halcyondays.com.
Kate’s sunglasses are new. Middleton Maven identified them as Victoria Beckham.
The sunglasses feature 100% UV protection, they’re manufactured from plastic in Italy. The have an oversized square shape with tonal lenses for a sleek look.
Find them in black at Very.
